Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has yet again described President William Ruto as a statesman.
This came after Ruto's reconciliation with his one time rival—Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
"Shaking hands with your enemies is a mark of statesmanship. Reconciling with Atwoli, President Ruto has used a script borrowed from the book " Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincol," Ngunyi tweeted in a statement on Thursday .
"In politics, enemies have more currency than friends."
Earlier on Thursday, Atwoli and a part of a delegation from the Luhya community met the President at the State House.
During the campaign period, Atwoli favoured Azimio leader Raila Odinga, becoming one of Ruto's fiercest critics.
Atwoli was against Ruto's leadership, until the hustler leader was declared winner, then he resolved to working with the Kenya Kwanza government.
"As I have said always, William Samoei Ruto is an articulate politician. But I had envisioned that he can’t become the fifth President of Kenya, I did not say he can’t be a president," he said on September, after the Supreme Court upheld Ruto's win.
