Boomerang eye top six finish after Sunday's harvest

Ulinzi Sharks' coach Njckson Oyaro is hoping for a better finish from his girls who shot to the top of the 12-team table with 30 points.

Boomerang's two victories on Sunday have given them the impetus to push for a top-six finish, player/coach Kevin Manono has said. 

After their harrowing 50-27 defeat at the hands of Ulinzi Saturday, Boomerang recovered the following day to post two closely fought wins that gave them a glimmer of hope.

"The boys went out there and gave their all. It was interesting." offered Manono.

He went on,  "We are aiming for the Super Cup, regardless of our usual challenges."

.In their second game of the day, Boomerang did enough to repel Black Mamba efforts as they recorded another hard-fought 26-23 victory.

George Kembe and Joshua Onyango grabbed eight and five goals respectively in the win.

Bethwel Kiprop bagged six and Morgan Juma six for Mamba.

He attributed the impressive run to good teamwork that has seen Sarah Wasike and Sharon Mulei rake in the goals.

The deadly duo were in the thick of things— dropping 10 and seven goals respectively as the soldiers ripped Daystar University 38-20.

Trailing in the second position also on 30 points are champions Nairobi Water Queens with the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB)  third on 28.

Leading in the men are Equity Bank with 34 points,.  NCPB are second on 32, Ulinzi third on 31, same as General Service Unit (GSU) who are fourth.
