If you had plans to apply for Twitter’s blue checkmark verification, you will have to wait a little longer.
This is because Twitter Blue, the subscription service to have a blue checkmark on Twitter, is not available in Kenya.
The response Twitter gives to persons who wish to join Twitter Blue and subscribe to the verification is, it is currently not in Kenya.
“Thanks for your interest! We are working to make Twitter Blue available in your country in the future. Please check back later,” they said.
However, the subscription service has already started to take effect all over the world.
In fact, Twitter just announced that the service were made available on iOS in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom on November 9.
“Only accounts subscribed to Twitter Blue on iOS on or after November 9, 2022, are eligible for the blue checkmark moving forward,” they said.
They said as of now, they are no longer accepting new applications for verification under the previous criteria of being a notable or active account.
“Note that all accounts subscribed to Twitter Blue on iOS on or after November 9, 2022, will automatically receive a blue checkmark, which will persist for the duration of the subscribers’ subscription term,” they said.
