President William Ruto on Wednesday hosted the Directo General of the United Nations Office Nairobi (UNON) Zainab Bangura at the State House.
Ruto said Bangura briefed him on the progress of the proposed UN facility, pledging the country's support.
"As a member of the global community of nations, Kenya will play its part in bringing this project to life," he said.
"We welcome the decision by the United Nations to break ground for its ultra-modern, expanded complex in Nairobi."
The facility will include a 9,000-capacity conference centre and state-of-the-art offices.
In September during the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Ruto committed more land for the facility.
"In keeping with its strong commitment to multilateral institutions, Kenya has made available more land for the UNON to facilitate the upgrading of its complex," he said while delivering his speech.
He also urged the member states to help finance the construction.
UNON was established by the UN General Assembly in 1996 as the body's headquarters in Africa.
Kenya hosts other UN offices including United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN-HABITAT.
