Information, Communication and Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo on Wednesday met with the Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) and Kenya Union of journalists.
This was during the International Day to End Impunity Against Journalists (IDEI), which was marked today, November 2, across the world.
"Pleased to have joined the Kenya Editors Guild during the IDEI, which was marked today. Moving forward will work to cultivate amiable partnership between the state and the media in Kenya," he said.
The conference, which was held at Mercure Hotel, Upper Hill in Nairobi, was co-organized by the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) and Katiba Institute.
It was attended by media organizations including the Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK) and the Kenya Union of Journalists (KUJ).
UNESCO was also represented.

"We hold media freedom dear to our hearts and we will do everything possible to ensure media freedom is guaranteed," he said.
