Muturi assures unwavering support to JSC

Attorney General Justin Muturi has pledged his commitment  to the Judicial Service Commission.

He was sworn in on Tuesday as a commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission.

"May I assure you of my full and unwavering support and commitment towards the fulfillment of the role of the Commission," Muturi said after taking oath.

 

The event was presided by Chief Justice Martha Koome at the Supreme Court buildings .

 Muturi assured to work and discharge his duties to his level best.

On her part, CJ Koome  expressed confidence in Muturi's deliverables, noting  that he will be expected to managing astute relations between the Executive and the Judiciary.

"I am certain you will be a valuable team-player in the Commission and serve as a link between the Commission and the executive branch as we work towards the realization of the constitutional mandate of the JSC," she said.

The Attorney General, who is the chief government legal adviser, also approves all commercial contracts drawn by ministries, departments and agencies.

Part of the work which awaits Muturi is managing relations between the Executive and the Judiciary.

During vetting by the National Assembly, Muturi promised to ensure that the Judiciary will have cordial relations with the Executive.

“I promise to do my best, to give the best advice to the government both in the national and county in a collaborative way as stated in the Constitution,” he said.
