Registrar recognises four parties that joined Kenya Kwanza

Their shift has been confirmed to be in accordance with the law and party Constitution.

The Registrar of Political Parties has acknowledged four political parties  which joined the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

The parties are Grand Dream Development Party (GDDP), Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM), Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) and National Agenda party of Kenya (NAP-K). 

In a notice on Friday, RPP Ann Nderitu said the parties entered into a post-election coalition with the President William Ruto-led alliance.

"The listed political parties entered into a post-election coalition with Kenya Kwanza Alliance and are confirmed to be in accordance with the Act and the party Constitution and rules," reads the notice.

Chama Cha Mashinani leader Isaac Rutto was the latest to sign the Kenya Kwanza coalition agreement. 

In April, CCM was among parties that did not sign the coalition agreement together with the other 12 political outfits that officially joined the ruling coalition.

Other than Ruto's UDA, other parties under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance are Amani National Congress (ANC) of Musalia Mudavadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula’s Forum for Restoration of Democracy-Kenya (Ford Kenya) and Moses Kuria's Chama Cha Kazi.

Others are Communist Party of Kenya, The Service Party of Mwangi Kiunjuri, Tujibebe Wakenya Party of former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, Farmers Party of former PS Irungu Nyakera, Devolution Party of Kenya, Economic Freedom Party (EFP) of Isaac Abey and Umoja na Maendeleo Party.

Also in the alliance are Democratic Party of Kenya of former National Speaker Justin Muturi, National Agenda Party of Kenya, Grand Dream Development Party and United Democratic Movement of Senator Ali Roba.
