‘Grace, grace, God's grace.’

These was the song that Outgoing Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen penned down on his Social media handle an indication that he was exciting about his new role.

Parliament had approved Murkomen as the Transport Cabinet Secretary after a vigorous process of vetting.

Murkomen praised the Lord.

“Grace that will pardon and cleanse within; Grace, grace, God's grace. Grace that is greater than all our sin,” he sang the hymns.

The song 'Grace Greater Than Our Sin' was sang by Julia Harriet Johnston.

Murkomen then shared a picture of himself when he was young.

When he was leaving the Parliament precincts on Wednesday, Murkomen penned an emotional message.

"A lot is going through my mind. Leaving Senate is not easy. It’s been my home for the last 10 years," he said.

The Senator was among the 22 cabinet appointees who were unanimously approved by the National Assembly following the conclusion of the vetting exercise.

During the vetting process, the Senator said that if confirmed as a CS, he will set aside time to work with regional leaders to solve challenges their respective areas are facing if at all they fall under his docket.

"As a believer of devolution, Mr chair I'll not work from Nairobi. I will once in a month or more so often decide that the ministry today is working from Garissa. We sit there and sort all problems that relate to my ministry with leaders of that region,”.
