Cabinet Secretary nominee for Information, Communication and Digital economy, Eliud Owalo has placed his net worth at Sh645 million.

According to Owalo, this is in the form residential houses in Nairobi and upcountry, a hotel and four cars.

"My house in Nairobi is worth Sh120 million. My residential house upcountry is worth Sh70 million, I own land upcountry worth Sh200 million, Four cars worth about Sh15 million," Owalo said when he appeared before the National Assembly Committee on appointments.

"A hotel facility not fully complete but is Sh80 million as at now, though based on the bill of quantities upon completion, it is worth Sh293 million."

He noted that he has also invested heavily in commercial tree planting.

"I have ventured heavily into commercial tree planting and as at now I estimate the value proposition is Sh160 million. This comes to a sum total 645 million."

Owalo who is a former ally of former Prime minister Raila Odinga was the second person to be vetted on Friday.
