A woman who interrupted President William Ruto's speech now claims that she needed Sh400,000 from him for his sons air ticket.

She said that her son who works as a tout in Nyeri needs to travel abroad to look for work.

"I had come to President Ruto to help me with Sh400,000 so that my son can travel abroad," she said .

The woman said that his son John Gichohi has three children who have been sent away from school due to fees arrears.

"Mimi nilikuwa nataka kujiua, lakini niliona niende kwa President anisaidie kwa sabau nimefika mwisho. (I wanted to commit suicide, but I decided to seek help from the President because I am tired)," she said.

She said her son was to travel to the United States to look for employment as a driver.

The woman, however, said that if her son is offered any job in Kenya, it will help him to raise his children.

The woman boldly walked towards Ruto shouting that she needed help in an apparent address to the President and first lady Rachel Ruto.

"Help me...Help me...you are our first lady, please help me!" she shouted.

Security officers, however, responded swiftly and whisked her away.

She was dragged outside the arena as Ruto made efforts to contain the situation saying "Asante sana!"

“Huyo mama tutamshughulikia asikuwe na wasi wasi. Asanteni sana!” He said as the men in black ejected the woman.
