A woman on Tuesday interrupted President William Ruto’s speech during the burial of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's brother in Mathira, Nyeri county.

The woman dressed in a yellow dress made a bold move of walking towards Ruto as she shouted for help in an apparent address to the President and first lady Rachel Ruto.

"Help me...Help me...you are our first lady, please help me!" the woman shouted.

Security officers, however, responded swiftly and whisked her away.

She was dragged outside the arena as Ruto made efforts to contain the situation saying "Asante sana!"

“Huyo mama tutamshughulikia asikuwe na wasi wasi. Asanteni sana!” He said as the men in black ejected the woman.

The woman also wanted Mama Rachel Ruto who was present to hold her hand.

Ruto also told the mourner that his wife would see her after the event.

“Keti tu chini ntakuona baadaye…Mama Rachel yuko hapa atakuona," President Ruto said.
