Ruto narrowly wins in Moyale constituency

UDA's presidential flagbearer William Ruto has won in the Moyale constituency, Marsabit county.

Ruto garnered 23,768  votes while his Azimio counterpart garnered 20,595 votes.

Roots George Wajackoyah came in third with 113 votes while David Mwaure of the Agano party managed 69 votes.

The total number of registered voters in Moyale is 66,408 while those who cast their votes are 44,545.

Rejected votes were 276.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has so far verified results for more than 130constituencies.

The commission is expected to verify the results of 290 constituencies and diaspora results to announce the president-elect.

The commission is required to announce the winner within seven days from election day.

IEBC is the only body mandated to declare the final presidential tally
