People's Trust Party leader John Mutua Katuku has claimed the election process was largely flawed.

Mutuku was contesting for Machakos governor seat but managed to get 33,752 votes against Wavinya Ndeti who won the seat after garnering 226,609 votes.

He said there was voter bribery during the campaign period and on the voting day but IEBC and police took no action.

"Our supporters were coerced by 'The Kingpin' using state machinery and money to elect some leaders who are not competent and qualified to hold public office."

He said Kenyans should restrain from such acts because it will have a negative effect on them later in life.

"It's very unfortunate and I want to appeal to our elite to wake up and educate the masses to never make such mistakes in future because it will affect us today and future generations," he said.

He, however, appealed to Machakos people to accept the outcome and move on. He also congratulated the winners in Machakos.

"I, however, want to thank my supporters for walking with me and believing in me and for voting for me even though I did not emerge the winner. It's just a dream postponed," he said.

"To my competitors, thank you for the friendly match. No hard feelings. The people have spoken through the ballot and as a democrat, I have no choice but to accept and move on."
