Deputy President William Ruto is crying foul, alleging the State and his opponents are planning to block him from his mega final rally at Tononoka grounds, Mombasa.

Speaking at Karen on Thursday,  Ruto claimed his opponents are trying to use the police to stop them from having their meeting.

"This is our final rally in Mombasa and it is a very important one. The kind of excuses they are giving  us is that the president is in Mombasa," he said

Breathing fire, Ruto termed the move as 'ridiculous arguing that the president presence in Mombasa is not a justifiable reason.

"How ridiculous can that be, and so if the president is in Mombasa, we can't have the meeting at Tononoka? Surely," Ruto added

Giving assurance, the Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate said they will still hold their rally at 2 pm as planned.

He said sabotage from his political rivals will not change the fact that freedom is coming with Kenyans ready to usher in a new government.

"These kinds of excuses are really ridiculous. Our competitors must understand that it is too late for them to do anything about this elections, it is simply too late, " Ruto added.

Last Sunday, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance was expected to hold a mega rally at Bukhungu Stadium.

However, they were blocked by the Kakamega County administration, which said the stadium was dirty and scheduled for cleaning.

The cleaning was in preparation to host a rally by the Azimio la Umoja led by Raila Odinga two days later.

As a result, Ruto was forced to campaign on the roadside in Kakamega County after his team was denied access.

He accused his opponents of deliberately frustrating his campaigns in the region because they saw him as a threat but stated that his quest remained undeterred.

He had also been blocked from using the Nyayo Stadium for his rally but the Court on Thursday temporarily issued an order for him to hold his final rally at Nyayo National Stadium this weekend

The order issued by Justice Joseph Sergon in a case filed by UDA secretary general Veronica Maina stands, pending the hearing and determination of the case Thursday afternoon.

Sports Kenya, the body mandated to manage stadia in Kenya, had barred the DP from holding his final rally at the venue, saying it had been booked for another function on the same day.

But Justice Joseph Sergon, after hearing an application filed by the party, issued an interim order suspending the implementation of the decision.
