There will be no sacred cows under the Azimio administration should Raila Odinga win the August 9 general election.

Azimio running mate Martha Karua has assured that the Azimio regime will treat friend and foe equally save for when one is caught on the wrong side of the law.

Lakini ukifanya makosa, utaadhibiwa kisheria uwe mpinzani uwe mtoto wangu au dada, sheria ni moja kwa kila mkenya,” Karua said.

This translates to. “But if you are on the wrong, you will be dealt with in accordance with the law regardless of whether you are in the opposition, my child or my sister.”

Karua spoke on Thursday at Kengeleni in Mombasa county on the fourth day of Azimio campaigns in the coastal region.

He called on the electorate not to divide their votes on polling day and ensure they cast their ballots in favour of the ODM leader.

Wacha Raila Amolo Odinga apate kura ambazo hatujaweza kuona safari ingine hapa Kenya. Tumpatie zote.”

The Narc Kenya leader took the opportunity to lash out at Deputy President and Kenya Kwanza's rival William Rutgo over what she termed continued disrespect towards fellow leaders.

Karua wondered why a leader with a reputation to disrespect his peers would do to ordinary Kenyans.

Kama huwezi kuheshimu ule rais ambaye amekupatia kazi kama deputy, na hakuna kuwa na marais wawili, wewe hutaheshimu raia,” she said.

This translates to, “If you can’t respect a president who gave you a job as his deputy, and there can never be two presidents at a time, you won’t respect ordinary citizens.”

The DP has in recent days come under criticism from the Azimio camp for disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta when he admitted that he almost slapped him.

He was also on the spot on Wednesday over his derogatory reference of Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa to a woman and for angrily lashing out at a man during a campaign rally in Trans Nzoia county.

Na kama hutahesimu raia, hata pesa yao hutaheshimu,” Karua added.

(And if you will not respect citizens, you won’t respect their money as well).

Karua said Ruto is a political student of Raila having been in the same camp during the 2005 referendum and he ought to have stuck to civil politics that respects opponents.

Mimi nawahakikishia, sitakuwa co-president. Nitakuwa msaidizi wa Raila, hatutakuwa tunabishana hadharani, maneno tunazumzia ofisini ile mnaelezewa ni matokeo pekee yake,” she said.

This loosely translates to, “I assure you I will not try to be a co-president, I will stick to being Raila’s deputy. We will not argue publicly, we will sort our issues privately all you will hear is the outcome.”

From Mombasa, the Azimio campaign caravan will pitch camp in Kilifi county on Friday.
