Kenya records 68 new Covid-19 cases, one death

The positivity rate is now at 4.2 per cent.

Kenya has recorded 68 new cases of Covid 19, from a sample size of 1,637 tested in the last 24 hours.

The positivity rate is now at 4.2 per cent.

"From the cases 61 are Kenyans while 7 are foreigners. 34 are males while 34 are females," Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said on Monday.

The youngest is a 24-month-old while the oldest is 94 years old.

Total confirmed positive cases are now 335,929 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,783,068.

One patient succumbed to the disease. The number of cumulative fatalities is 5,668.

"Today, 257 patients have recovered from the disease, 237 from the Home Based and Isolation Care Program while 20 are from various health facilities countrywide," he said.

This pushes the total recoveries to 328,284 of whom 274,941 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,343 are from various health facilities countrywide.

One patient succumbed to the disease. The number of cumulative fatalities is 5,668.

There are 120 patients currently admitted in the health facilities, while 1,857 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

Three patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), all of whom are on ventilatory support.

"Another 11 are in the General Wards and are all on supplemental oxygen," CS Kagwe said.

No patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
