Vihiga UDA candidates in Musalia Mudavadi’s party have vowed to go all the way to the ballot.

The candidates said Kenya Kwanza affiliate parties should focus on delivering victory to Deputy President William Ruto.

“What if ANC wins all seats in Vihiga and Ruto loses? We need to make sure Ruto gets 70 per cent of votes,” Jackson Kedogo, UDA Vihiga senator candidate said.

Mudavadi has been asking his backyard to support leaders vying on his ANC, and not those seeking seats on Ruto's UDA.

He has told Vihiga residents not to embarrass him by voting in UDA candidates since the area is perceived as his political stronghold.

“Do you think Sugoi residents can elect an ANC MP in their backyard despite some of us being on one coalition?” Mudavadi posed.

“Just give me ANC legislators in my backyard.”

Speaking to the Star, Kedogo said it was Mudavadi who took them to the Deputy President.

“We have been his loyal supporters and we followed him to Ruto. Our focus should be to deliver victory to Kenya Kwanza,” the Kabwareng MCA said.

Kedogo said he respects Mudavadi and being in UDA does not mean that they do not support him.

“After negotiating with Ruto, Mudavadi told us he would get 30 per cent of government if he delivers 70 per Western votes to Ruto. He did not mention anything about delivering ANC seats,” he said.

Tom Atingo, UDA Luanda MP aspirant echoed Kedogo's sentiments.

Jackeline Mwenesi, who is vying for the Vihiga Woman Representative seat on UDA  said Ruto’s candidates in the county will go all the way to the ballot.

Mwenesi called on residents to vote six-piece pattern from the presidency to the MCA seat.
