Detectives have recovered one pistol, cash and clothing items worn by the robbers who attacked a woman in Ongata Rongai early Sunday.

Four suspects linked to the incident are in custody and are assisting the police with further investigations.

National Police Service says the suspects will be arraigned once the investigations are concluded.

However, a prime suspect believed to be the ringleader of the gang behind the attack and a spate of past robberies in the area is still at large.

On Tuesday, police arrested the first two suspects linked to the attack that was captured on CCTV footage that went viral on social media.

The two were nabbed after they allegedly used details of Sunday's victim to withdraw cash from a mobile money shop.

They were arrested in Kasarani, almost 50 kilometres away from the scene of the crime after withdrawing Sh240,000 from a Mpesa shop.

The money had been illegally transferred from the woman's account on the night of the attack.

The second pair of suspects was arrested on Wednesday.

The two were traced to a hideout in Kawangware, Nairobi. They told police they were at the scene of the incident, an officer aware of the probe told the Star.

The woman was robbed at gunpoint at her home in Gataka, Ongata Rongai.

CCTV footage posted online indicates that the armed robbery occurred at 2:20 am, on June 12, 2022.

On Tuesday, the woman and her husband spent time at the Ongata Rongai police station explaining the ordeal that left her and their house help shaken.

She said the gang struck the moment she started driving into her compound after the gate was opened by her house girl.

The attackers robbed her of an unknown amount of money and carted away electronic items from her house.
