Kenya, Zambia sign six MoUs to scale up bilateral ties

The second MoU was based on cooperation in the field of international relations studies and research.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Zambian counterpart Hakainde Hichilema on Wednesday witnessed the signing of six MOUs geared toward scaling up the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The bilateral instruments of cooperation were signed after the Head of State held a one-on-one meeting at the State House.

The bilateral talks included the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of veterinary and animal health.

The second MoU was based on cooperation in the field of international relations studies and research.

They agreed that MoU three was to be on cooperation in the promotion of cooperatives and the MoU between the Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF) and the Tourism Council Zambia (TCZ).

The fifth MoU was between the Kenya Utalii College and the Zambia Institute for Tourism and Hospitality Studies.

The bilateral talks closed with the MoU on cooperation in the field of information, communication and technology.

The two leaders agreed that the signing of the instruments of cooperation sets out an extensive framework for the consolidation and deepening of relations for the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.

Earlier, when he arrived at State House, at the start of his two-day State Visit to the country, President Hichilema was received by his host Uhuru in a colourful State Reception that included a Guard of Honor mounted by a detachment of the Kenya Air Force and a 21-gun-salute.
