Nairobi County Governor candidate Polycarp Igathe is making a name for himself through the new and adventurous ways he has devised to draw his electorates' attention.

On Tuesday, Igathe took to clean public washrooms at Nairobi's CBD while campaigning.

"Cleanliness and management of public toilets is one of the biggest jobs in Nairobi City County. They must be managed the right way and be made available for all residents," he said.

The Azimio candidate then illustrated how toilets should be cleaned saying if he is elected, public washrooms will be cleaner.

He acknowledged the City Council workers who clean toilets around Nairobi.

"For a long time, it has been considered dirty work. This is responsible work and young people must take up the task of managing these toilets the right way," he added.

Igathe said him taking up the exercise was to demonstrate to his constituents what he would offer them if elected.

He also recognized that Nairobi has a shortage of public washrooms and promised to solve the issue after August 9.

" Hotel, Bar, Restaurant and Café owners, rest assured that the Igathe-Kaloki County Government will look into consolidating all business operating licenses and will support the industry as we give dignity and hope to the thousands who work here," he said earlier during a campaign meeting.

Igathe said as a leader who serves his people, he is always honoured to serve the residents of Nairobi and will continue to serve them if they vote for him.

In the past, Igathe has been seen washing cars, cooking and selling street foods.

"People should get used to seeing me because that is how things will be even when I become governor. I will be serving you your menu, not the menu of the chef," he said on one occasion.

The Azimio candidate became an instant sensation after he devised simple but tactical ways of approaching voters in a bid to woo them to back his bid.
