The 59th Madaraka Day celebrations brought politicians from different political sides together.

The top two Nairobi Gubernatorial Candidates Polycarp Igathe and Johnson Sakaja were seated next to each other.

Igathe is Azimio La Umoja Coalition Nairobi candidate while Senator Sakaja is of Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

The two were spotted having tête-à-tête as the military showcased their vehicles used in different types of war.

Sakaja was first seen whispering to Igathe, who responded in a similar manner while pointing at the military vehicles.

Through consensus, Azimio settled on Igathe of the Jubilee party who chose Former Kibwezi Mp Philip Kaloki from the Wiper party as his running mate.

Kenya Kwanza Alliance settled on Senator Sakaja of the United Democratic Alliance who picked Absa Bank Kenya Ltd Chief Operating Officer James Njoroge Muchiria as his deputy.

These moves aimed at consolidating votes ahead of the polls.

Both candidates have been campaigning day and night as they try to outwit each other in the race to be the fourth governor of Nairobi.
