Ruto, Raila mourn MP Kamoti

Deputy President William Ruto and Azimio la Umoja presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga have mourned the death of Rabai MP, William Kamoti.

In his message, the DP termed Kamoti as a friendly, hardworking and diligent individual.

He also prayed for God's comfort to the family.

"Condolences to the people of Rabai following the death of your MP, William Kamoti. Mr Kamoti was friendly, hardworking and diligent. We pray for the family at this sad time," Ruto said.

ODM leader Raila Odinga remembered Kamoti, a member of his party as a person who was dedicated to serving his people.

He added that the late legislator was a friendly individual who got a long well with others.

"My heartfelt condolences go to the family, friends and constituents of Rabai MP William Kamoti Mwamkale. He was an amiable person who got along well with others. His dedication to his constituents and the ODM party will be missed. May His Soul Rest in Eternal Peace."

The Rabai MP who passed away on Sunday night after his car was involved in an accident at stage ya Maziwa in Mnarani near Kilifi town along the Mombasa-Malindi highway.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred at around 9.30 pm.

Kamoti was serving his second term and had on Sunday been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to vie for the Rabai MP seat for the third term.

The MP will buried on Monday.
