A man on Thursday was charged in a Nairobi court with stealing Sh4.3 million from Premium Movers Limited.

Anthony Njenga allegedly stole Sh4,346,975 from the firm after he received the cash on its behalf.  

He was a worker at Premium Movers at the time and was tasked with hiring lorries to transport ballast to China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Kenya Limited in Mombasa.

The offence was allegedly committed on diverse dates between June 7 and June 22, 2021, at Upper Hill within Nairobi county.

Njenga denied the charges before senior principal magistrate Muthoni Nzibe and pleaded to be released on lenient bail terms.

The court granted him a bail of Sh2 million. The case will come up on June 7 for further directions by the court.
