Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga is set to unveil his running mate today.

Speaking at the Kamukunji grounds on Sunday, the former Prime Minister said he will name the person that will deputise him in the August 9 General Election at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) from 11 am.

"Nimeangalia hali ya anga na nataka kuwaambia kwamba kesho saa tano kule KICC nitatangaza," Raila said.

This loosely translates to, "I have read the mood and I want to tell you that tomorrow at KICC, at 11 am I will announce."

The pressure was mounting on the ODM leader to name his running mate from the speakers who were present at the Kamukunji rally.

Raila was expected to announce his running mate at the Kamukunji rally but communication from his team said he had postponed it to Monday.

"Our campaign is aware that Kenyans are anxious to know the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Presidential ticket. We will make the announcement tomorrow (Monday)," Azimio spokesperson Makau Mutua said.

There are reports that the Azimio Running Mate Selection Panel had said Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua is rated highly for the position.

The panel had also interviewed governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru) and Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega) for the running mate position last week.

Others are Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and former Emgwen MP Stephen Tarus.
