Raila to hold first virtual Azimio rally on Friday

The rally has been dubbed, 'Rally with Baba'.

Azimio la Umoja flagbearer Raila Odinga is set to hold the first virtual rally on Friday, April 15, 2022.

Raila said the rally has been dubbed, 'Rally with Baba' and it has been seen as a move to embrace technology.

Azimio TV Youtube channel will be hosting the event from 8 pm.

The public can also watch the event via the channel's social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter accounts.

"Catch us live and let’s talk about Liberation in honour of the Easter Season," Raila said.

The ODM leader is expected to sell his Azimio agenda during the virtual event.

Former Tusker Project Fame Principal and music performer Hellen Mtawali, Akorino Gospel Artist Aaron Allan and Zigwembe singer  Bruz Newton will be performing at the live event.

Azimio TV has been persistent in streaming in-person campaigns.

Raila will fly to the US next week on a trip that is expected to be his last mission abroad before the August 9 General Election.

Sources close to the ODM leader told the Star, he will leave the country hours after concluding ODM party nominations on April 21.

The tour will last for a week and the former Prime Minister will be expected back in the country on April 28. 

Azimio will be the first coalition to hold a rally or campaign virtually.

The Easter season will start on April 15, Good Friday and end on Monday, April 18.
