ODM leader Raila Odinga has said that his drive for seeking the presidency is to push for a better life for every Kenyan.

According to Raila, Kenyans must live comfortably and should not have to go to bed hungry at any given point.

The former Prime Minister said that he is confident that this is achievable and that better days lie ahead.

"We're pushing for a better life for each and every Kenyan right across the nation. Our people must lead more comfortable lives and not ever have to go to bed hungry, we'll get this done! Better days are coming," Raila said.

The Azimio One Kenya Alliance flagbearer will be seeking the country's top job for the fifth time. This time, he is set to battle it out with Deputy President William Ruto of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Raila just like his competitor has been going around the country campaigning as he sells his agenda to the people.

He has, however, taken a one-week break from campaigns as his party conducts primaries.

ODM will be conducting its last nomination in Nairobi on April 21.

The former PM is also expected to leave the country on April 21, for a trip to the United States.

Raila will have a busy schedule in the US, meeting top-notch US government officials, the business community, religious leaders and Kenyans living in America.

Raila's campaign secretariat spokesperson Makau Mutua confirmed the trip but did not give further details.

He said they will issue a communication on the US tour at an appropriate time.
