We don't accept your apologies as Raila Odinga’s followers, Deputy President William Ruto has been told.

Leaders from Siaya county on Saturday noted that the DP and his team had sensed defeat and resorted to such violence.

Led by Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, alleged that the goons were hired by UDA leadership under the command of Ruto.

"Don't try to fool us by authoring belated apologies. Don't try to think we are fools that you can come and try to apologize to once you have commanded your goons to attack Raila Odinga," Wandayi said.

"We don't accept that apology as Raila's followers and we want to tell Ruto that 'if you saw the seed of thuggery you will for sure reap the fruits of violence'."

The Ugunja MP noted that they don't want Ruto to set this country in the modes of post election violence.

"You have realized that you are loosing this elections pants down, your recourse is now violence. We shall deal with you properly," he added.

Oburu Oginga warned Ruto to stop such because as a people, they want peace in the coming elections.

"If you don't want a peaceful election it means you have sensed defeat," he said.

He noted that Ruto was lucky because the people are peaceful.

"I want to ask our people that when the opponents come to campaign in Nyanza, let them do so. Because we want peace," he said.

Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi stated that they do not take the incident lightly.

He urged that people should not retaliate or follow such because Raila is the prince of peace.

"We are looking at the bigger picture when Raila is already the President. We will ensure the country remains united, criminals will be arrested and we will not give them an opportunity to allow Kenyans to suffer," he said.
