Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has said that there will no zoning in the Western region.

Speaking in an interview at Citizen TV on Friday, he said that he held talks with the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga and agreed that both DAP-K and ODM would vie for positions in the region without zoning.

Amisi warned that ODM would lose votes if they zoned regions.

“I held talks with ODM Party Leader and Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate last night. He agreed that ODM will field aspirants in all regions of the country. We will compete. Every party will bring votes to baba," he said.

He said if all aspirants are allowed to vie without zoning, the Coalition will be practising democracy.

He said that they are in a party democracy and there is no party zoning in the Constitution.

“I have read the Political party Act and there is nowhere zoning is mentioned," he said.

Amisi, further said that even though parties are working together in support of Raila, it was crucial for an individual party to show its efforts.

In his statement, Amisi added that it was not right for ODM Party to be zoned as it is one of the big parties in the country.
