Jubilee not giving direct tickets, Kanini Kega says

Jubilee director of elections and Kieni MP Kanini Kega has refuted claims that the Jubilee party is giving direct nomination tickets to aspirants.

Speaking during a press conference on Friday, Kanini said aspirants would get a certificate after the party’s nominations end.

Nominated MP Maina Kamanda who was also present said that the ground will be the major determinant during the party nominations.

Further, Kamanda said that even though aspirants from Jubilee and ODM were competing for the same positions in Nairobi, they would not allow Kenya Kwanza to win in any post.

Jubilee party Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni claimed that small parties have been used to bring division in the country.

“When you are in those parties, you are in UDA,” Kioni said.

At the event, Ol Karau MP David Njuguna Kiaraho ditched UDA and joined Jubilee.

Kiaraho said he made that decision as a way of leading people in the right direction.

"I had left Jubilee Party shortly and joined the other side but I am back home. Those who are looking for me tell them I am in Jubilee and Azimio la Umoja," Kiaraho said.

Former Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo has also UDA for Jubilee party.
