Bungoma ANC officials have asked Kenya Kwanza principals to name Musalia Mudavadi as the alliance's presidential flagbearer.

Mudavadi was endorsed during the party's NDC to run for the presidency.

Bungoma ANC chairman Martin Waliaula said on Tuesday the party wants Mudavadi to be Kenya Kwanza's flagbearer in the August 9 polls.

“During our NDC all party delegates seconded Mudavadi’s move to run for the top seat in the country and I want to assure you today that his ambitions are still valid and will be realised in August,” he said.

Waliaula spoke at ANC party offices in Bungoma.

He said all Kenya Kwanza principals are equal and Mudavadi is experienced enough to run the government.

“Musalia is an experienced leader and if given the opportunity to run the government every Kenyan will enjoy,” he said.

“We are optimistic that Kenya Kwanza will beat Azimio la Umoja hands down and we are asking Deputy President William Ruto to accept our appeal.”
