Two people were killed while five others were injured after armed militias attacked a vehicle they were travelling in a long Marsabit-Moyale road.
The militants opened fire on a passenger's vehicle.
The vehicle was travelling from Marsabit to Sololo and was attacked between Bubisa and Torbi.
The driver of the vehicle is among those who sustained injuries and were taken to Sololo mission hospital.
While confirming the incident, county commissioner Mr Paul Rotich said those injured were receiving medication as security agencies investigate the matter,
The motive behind the attack remains unknown.
Some weeks ago, a vehicle was attacked along Moyale -Marsabit road killing one passenger while two others sustained injury.
On the same day, a vehicle was attacked along Marsabit-Maikona road with passengers got injured.
In another incident, a canter heading to Badasa was attacked by militias killing six of the passengers.
Marsabit county governor Ali Mohamud Mohamed pleaded with locals to maintain peace and preach peaceful coexistence.
