Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that it was Raila who gave him the tag Watermelon.

Speaking at his Tseikuru home, Kalonzo said watermelon is a beautiful fruit and people should stop making fun of it.

“It was Raila who gave me the tag by the way. He is my brother, so no problem,” Kalonzo said in a KTN interview.

Kalonzo said that this will be the third time that he will be supporting Raila Odinga as a presidential candidate.

“If people ask me to support Raila Odinga 20 times, I will if that is what it will mean to keep this nation together,” he said.

When asked if he thinks the deal signed on Saturday will be honoured, Kalonzo has said that it will depend on the goodwill of Raila Odinga.

“I pray he becomes the next president. I will go around telling Kenyans to campaign for Raila,” he added.

Last year Kalonzo said he would not support Raila in the August 9 general election.

In an interview with NTV, Kalonzo said he had been humiliated under the NASA coalition and would not consider teaming up with Raila for the third time.

The former vice president has been Raila's running mate twice, in the 2013 and 2017 elections.

And on Saturday, during Azimio la Umoja rally, the Wiper party boss said he had made a U-turn and would support Raila's bid for the third time.

"I thought Raila will endorse me for the presidency this time around but out of a good heart, I will support him. Raila Tosha," he said.
