Raila takes Azimio la Umoja gospel to Meru County

The vote-rich county has seen Deputy President William Ruto also launch a charm offensive of the region

ODM leader Raila Odinga will on Thursday take his Azimio la Umoja campaigns to Meru County.

Raila is expected to sell his plan for the country as he seeks the region's vote in the August 9 polls.

He has frequented the Mt Kenya region, which has in the past elections supported his opponents, as he woos them for support.

His visit to the county is part of the former Prime Minister's 12-day campaign schedule that comes to a close on Saturday.

Raila is set to host an Azimio National Delegates Conference in Nairobi on Saturday, where he will be unveiled as the coalition's flag bearer.

The ODM leader's visit to Meru comes a day after Governor Kiraitu Murungi officially joined Azimio la Umoja coalition.
