Women's Day: DCI vows to fast track probe on gender-based violence

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has said that they will remain at the forefront in promoting a society free of gender-based violence.

The institution led by George Kinoti joined the world in celebrating International Women's Day on March 8, 2022.

They took to their Twitter account to celebrate and recognize the achievements of women.

The DCI further said they will deal with gender-related crimes through expeditious and conclusive investigations. 

"Women have a significant role that they play in society across the world," DCI said in a tweet.

"We are cognizant of women’s contribution in building a sustainable future."

They also took the chance to celebrate the ambassador behind their hotline dubbed FichuakwaDCI, detective Mwanajuma Mohammed.

"He has been the face behind the DCI toll-free line that has been a game-changer in the manner in which serious crimes are reported, detected and acted upon anonymously," DCI said.

The institution has been reporting sexual and gender-based violence cases on its social media platforms.

They urge Kenyans to continue reporting any gender-related crime through 0800-722-203.
