Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has announced that Devolution Empowerment Party (BUS party) will hold a mega National Delegates Conference on March 18.

Murungi has said that the purpose of the conference is to make a public announcement on the way forward for Devolution Empowerment Party and who they will support as president in the coming August 9 General Election.

He has further said that he was able to realize development in the government after being in the opposition movement for ten years.

“That is why we shall join the team that is likely to form the next government so that our county can be at the centre of the government,” he tweeted.

The Meru governor, who was among the Mt. Kenya region leaders in attendance at the Sagana 3 meeting, had not declared the presidential candidate that the party will be backing in the August polls.

During the January Devolution Empowerment Party relaunch, Murugi said that the party belonged to no one particular individual.

Murungi further said that the Meru-Embu people will not be used during the vote hunting, saying that they have seen developments implemented in other parts of the country and not in their region.
