Governors Charity Ngilu and Kivutha Kibwana have said that their parties will not field presidential candidates in the upcoming polls

Instead, Narc and Muungano parties will back ODM boss Raila Odinga under the Azimio la Umoja Movement coalition.

Speaking at Bomas during the parties National Delegates Conference on Friday, the two said they will team up with other like-minded outfits to form a formidable force.

"We have only two choices, to field presidential candidates or team up with others to form a government,"  Ngilu said.

Ngilu, while addressing Muungano delegates, said that while the parties had the opportunity to endorse their leaders as presidential candidates, they have opted to join Azimio to boost their chances of winning.

"Kibwana, in all his life, has fought for the ordinary person. He has been arrested with the others including Raila fighting for the second liberation," Ngilu said.

ODM boss Raila Odinga is expected to arrive at the Bomas of Kenya for the Muungano and Narc joint NDCs.

Ngilu said the former Prime minister will address the joint delegates meeting.
