National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi treated a group of women to a special Valentine Day party on Monday to express his love for the women of Kenya for their massive contribution.

Valentine Day is marked on February 14 as a day to show and express love to others including couples, family members and even colleagues at workplaces.

The Speaker, who is eyeing the presidency, lit up Valentine's Day cupid mood with a grand breakfast for the Nairobi women leaders even as he showered them with fond accolades.

"Today I just want to shower you with my love. I want to express my love for you as mothers, sisters, daughters and pillars of this great nation," the Speaker said.

The red stripe event saw over 500 women receive red roses and chocolate bars from the speaker as a show of love.

The party culminated into a session of songs and dances to celebrate the occasion.

He then cut a velvet cake that he shared with his guests as they serenaded him with songs.

Muturi called for more empowerment of women in leadership positions saying they are full of integrity.

"Let us embrace our women in leadership, let us empower them, let us love them," he said amid cheers from the group of women.

Muturi used the occasion to invite the women goup to his official endorsement as the Democratic Party presidential candidate at the Bomas of Kenya next Sunday.
