Kenyans are set to enjoy this festive season as rains continue pounding various parts of the country, the latest weather forecast has shown.

Kenya Meteorological Department director Stella Aura, in a forecast released on Tuesday and is set to run up to December 27, said the ongoing rains are set to continue pounding various parts of the country.

"Rainfall is likely to continue over a few to several places in the highlands East of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, Central and South Rift Valley, Northeastern and parts of North-western Kenya," Aura said.

She said occasional isolated storms are likely over parts of the highlands East of the Rift Valley, South-eastern lowlands, North-eastern and the Coastal strip.

She said strong south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots(12.9 m/s) are expected over some parts of Northwestern and North-eastern Kenya.

Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, West Pokot, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Busia, Migori, Baringo, Nakuru, Narok and Laikipia counties are set to have occasional morning rains over few places.

Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected over a few to several places.

Nights are likely to be mainly partly cloudy though occasional showers are likely over a few places.

The maximum (daytime) temperatures are likely to range from 21 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius while minimum (night-time) temperatures are expected to be between 11 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius.

In Turkana and Samburu, mornings are expected to be generally sunny.

The maximum (daytime) temperatures are likely to range from 24 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius while minimum (night-time) temperatures are expected to be between 13 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius.

Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi and Nairobi counties will experience cloudy mornings with rains over a few places.

Afternoon and night showers are likely to occur over a few to several places. Occasional heavy rainfall is likely over a few to several places.

The maximum (daytime) temperatures are likely to range from 20 degrees Celsius to 28 degrees Celsius while minimum (night-time) temperatures are expected to be between 08 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius.

Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo counties will experience morning rains and afternoon showers are expected over a few places throughout the forecast period.

Nights are expected to be partly cloudy for most of the forecast period though occasional showers are likely over a few places.

Isolated storms are expected in Garissa, Marsabit and Isiolo counties.

The maximum (daytime) temperatures are likely to range from 22oC to 37 degrees Celsius while minimum(night-time) temperatures are expected to be between 16 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius.

Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita Taveta counties will have morning rains over a few places.

Afternoon and night showers are expected over a few to several places. Occasional heavy rainfall is likely over a few to several places.

Maximum (daytime) temperatures are likely to range from 21 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius while minimum(night-time) temperatures are expected to be between 15 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius.

In Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale counties, morning showers are expected over several places while afternoon and night showers are expected over a few places during the forecast period.

Occasional heavy rainfall is likely over a few places.

The maximum (daytime) temperatures are likely to range from 29 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius while minimum (night-time) temperatures are expected to be between 24 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius.
