Deputy President William Ruto has he is best placed to carry on the Big Four Agenda, when President Uhuru Kenyatta retires.

Speaking in Cheptais, Mt. Elgon on Friday, Ruto said he was with the president when they planned for the Big Four Agenda, and not the opposition leaders.

"The president is retiring next year and the person he planned with the Big Four Agenda is not the Nasa guys. I planned the Big Four with Uhuru Kenyatta," he said.

The DP said the Big 4 would have created jobs, improved the health sector and agriculture, but after ODM leader Raila Odinga's handshake with Uhuru, he brought in confusion.

Ruto is on the second day of his tour of Bungoma county.

He said if Big Four is combined with his bottom up economic model, some aspects will be achieved.

The Big 4 agenda is premised on four pillars, which include food security, affordable housing, universal health care, manufacturing and Job creation.

On Wednesday, the DP said he would prioritise the Big Four Agenda if elected president in the next General Elections.
