The Kenya National Highways Authority has issued a traffic advisory ahead of Mashujaa Day celebration which will be marked on Wednesday, October 20.

This years celebration will be held in Wang'uru stadium in Kirinyaga county.

In a public notice published on Friday, Kenha gave an advisory on which roads will be used by attendees as well as issue caution for traffic congestion on selected roads.

"Members of the public attending the celebrations will access the venue via the Kenol-Sagana- Marua road which is currently under construction," Kenha Director General Kung'u Ndungu said.

Ndungu noted that the Authority has put in place measures to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. The measures according to Ndungu include setting up of a construction corridor which will aid in ensuring two-lane movement.

Traffic marshals and newly installed road signs are said to also help in the movement.

Sections of the road likely to experience traffic snurlup include; the Kenol Township where pavement works are ongoing, Murang'a Teachers Training College where the Carriageway is shfting from the new road to the existing road as well as Saba Saba bridge where construction is ongoing.

Motorists have been provided with alternative routes to take.

"Motorists are urged to exercise caution and road courtesy while using the road. Overlapping and traffic offenders will be prosecuted," Ndungu said.
