2022 presidential hopeful Justin Muturi has said that his government will absorb more of the youth who are the majority in the country if he succeeds in clinching power.

In his engagement with Kenyans on Wednesday on Twitter, Muturi said that the youth are the majority in the country and that what is needed is for them to unite for the right course.

“The youth should organise themselves rather than wait to be organised by politicians,” Muturi said.

When asked about his unique style of leadership if he manages to be elected, the National Assembly Speaker said he will start by streamlining the public sector by appointing the right people to office.

Muturi added that he will work with any like-minded leader in the country who shares his vision for the country.

Regarding the struggling economy, the speaker said that the government must stop borrowing, renegotiate the high-interest loans and stop white-elephant projects.

He said that the government can instead encourage cottage industries that are being manufactured locally by offering incentives, refocus on food security and have a predictable tax regime.

The speaker added that corruption can be dealt with properly by giving corruption cases a time frame within which they must be concluded.

“The actors in the administration of justice must have synchronised standard operations. Investigations and prosecutions must be timed and made public,” he said.

Muturi added that he will be announcing his running mate in due time.

With the high rate of unemployment, Muturi said that this can be sold by fixing the economy, taming wastage in the government, and having the right policies which will then create an enabling environment for job creation.
