The DP said that they discussed the socio-economic transformation of Kenya with the MCAs.

This comes as Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu continues to criticise the DP, most recently to resign for failing to work closely with the President in their second term in office.

Ngilu said that DP’s engagement in 2022 sideshows with his lieutenants from within the government only serves to derail government programs.

The DP’s meeting with Kitui MCAs is part of a series of meetings that he has been having with grassroots leaders from several parts of the country.

Last weekend, Ruto joined leaders, professionals, civil society, and other stakeholders for a two-day engagement on the economy of the six counties of Nyanza.

The engagement was held in Gilgil, Nakuru County, which the DP said was part of the ‘great Hustler Nation’ discussion of the bottom-up economic model.

“This is a new paradigm premised on freeing our country from ethnic politics and conversations that is only centred on leaders. We have a new engagement of people-centred issues with tangible live changing results,” Ruto said.
