The funeral service for the late, retired President Daniel Moi is underway.
The service started with prayers.
His son Philip Moi got emotional as he opened the service with a verse from Revelation 14:13.
"Then I heard a voice from heaven say, 'Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”“Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”
Another of Moi's sons, Raymond Moi, proceeded to read the eulogy.
He read through Moi's life from his family and education to his entrance to politics.
At one point as he read the eulogy detailing Mzee Moi's children, Philip had a light moment when he reminded mourners that he was one of them.
Moi had eight children, among them a set of twins.
Moi's firstborn is Jenniffer Chemutai , second born Jonathan Toroitich who died in 2019, John Mark, Rongai MP, Raymond, after him Moi had twins, Philip and Doris, Gideon is his last born.
Moi died at 5.20am Tuesday morning of February 4.
On Wednesday, there will be a service at Kabarak University 9am and a private burial at Moi's Kabarak home in the afternoon.
