Cops arrest 17 MRC members in Diani

Police are holding 17 suspected members of the Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) in Diani, Kwale county.

The suspects aged between 41 and 84 years were nabbed as they assembled at a house in Kibundani area and police say they had recovered membership registers and contributions at the house.

The decision to arrest the men comes at a time when issue of legality of MRC is in contention.

Elsewhere, three men were arrested for allegedly stealing from a Chinese Water Tunnel Construction Company at Mairi site, Nairobi.

The arrest came after several items were earlier reported stolen from the company. The items were recovered from the men. This was after a breaking was reported at the construction site.
