A  taxi driver, who was the last person seen with murder victim Mildred Odira, will continue reporting to DCI's office at Kasarani police station on a weekly basis until April 9 when the results of his DNA test are expected.

Kiambu chief magistrate Patricia Gichohi made the order on Tuesday after investigating officer Charles Musyimi applied for more time for the Government Chemist to release David Junga Ochieng's DNA results.

Ochieng  was freed on a Sh200,000 bail on February 22.

Odira, who was a switchboard operator with Foresight Company based at the Nation Centre, was last seen with the taxi driver Ochieng.

Her body was found at the City Mortuary six days after she was reported missing from her Kariobangi South house on January 29, 2019.

Preliminary investigations showed that she fell ill and was taken to Ruaraka’s Uhai Neema Hospital in a taxi driven by Ochieng on January 29, but she never made it to the hospital.

The driver is said to have signed in at the hospital’s gate at 4.30am and signed out at 5.57am.

Detectives said a CCTV footage showed the driver entering and exiting without dropping anyone.

Odira's disappearance was reported by her sister at Kasarani police station and Ochieng arrested thereafter.

On Tuesday, Gichohi directed him to continue reporting to DCI's office at Kasarani every Friday until April 9. He was warned not to interfere with the taxi by either changing its colour or disposing of it until the investigations were completed.

He should also produce the vehicle to the police whenever they require it.
