Five suspects were on Tuesday arrested in Kariokor, Nairobi, for operating an illegal lubricant oil filling plant.

The suspects were nabbed in a sting operation carried out by officers from the Anti-Counterfeit Agency.

The suspects are due in court Wednesday.

Anti-counterfeit agency chief inspector Ibrahim Bulle said the facility had been disguised as a garage.

Oil and packaging equipment valued at about Sh3 million were seized.

Bulle said items confiscated include oil, oil packaging equipment, containers, bottles, drums and jerrycans.

Also seized from the suspects were brand labels for Shell, Total Kenya and National Oil.
