Slain Dusit D2 Riverside attack Mastermind Salim Ali Gichunge's mum has been released on a one million shillings cash bail.

Sakina Abdalla was charged with failing to disclose information to police about Gichunge's whereabouts.

It was alleged that on diverse dates between 2015 and 2019 at Kula Mawe area in Isiolo County, in breach of her duty as a parent she failed to disclose information about her son to police.

The prosecution has argued that had she disclosed the information, this could have been used to prevent the Dusit attack.

She had asked the court to release her on bail pending the hearing of her case.

Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku ordered her to pay one million shillings cash bail or an alternative bond of two million shillings.

However, Sakina was released on strict conditions which include reporting to the Anti-Terror Police Unit on a monthly basis until the case is heard and concluded.

Mutuku further ordered her to deposit her passport in court and also not to contact any witnesses lined up to testify in the case.

The case will be mentioned on April 1 for pre-trial.
