Five convicts escaped custody from Eldama Ravine police station in Baringo County on Wednesday night.

Joseph Walimu, Peter Leshongo and Kelvin Nepenoi had each been sentenced to serve 30 years imprisonment for armed robbery.

Others are Rono Birir and Nelson Sang who had been charged with rape and stealing by servant respectively.

All except Birir had their cases handled by Mogotio police station.

Birir's case was handled at Timboroa police station.

A brief send to Vigilance House in Nairobi said they escaped by cutting the rear window grill.
