Man charged with nephew's murder in Sh9m insurance released on bond

A man charged with the murder of

his nephew in order to benefit from a Sh9 million insurance policy has been released on a Sh3 million bond or a surety of the same amount.

High Court Judge George Odunga ordered that Evans Kasyoki Masaku be remanded until 29/10/2018 if he fails to raise the amount.

The former ICEA Lion Group company manager is accused of orchestrating the murder of

27-year-old Eric Musyoka

at Kikambwana, Kangundo.

The court had in its previous rulings ordered for a mental check-up of the suspect at Mathare Mental Hospital.

The hospital's medical report stated that Kasyoki is in sound mind.

The deceased had two life insurance policies on his name, although his family claims it had no knowledge of them.

Kasyoki was arrested after Citizen TV ran an expose' on Monday linking him to the murder dubbed, "Murder For Profit".
