All 10 bodies recovered from Aberdare plane crash site

All the 10 bodies of the people who died in a plane crash in the Aberdare on Tuesday have been recovered.

Police said they were taken to

Njambini Hospital mortuary ahead of transportation to Lee Funeral home in Nairobi for identification on Friday.

The search and rescue teams of the ill-fated Cessna C208 aircraft, registration number 5Y-CAC, reached the crash site on Thursday morning.

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said the plane left Kitale at around 4 pm and was destined for Wilson Airport in Nairobi but was redirected to the JKIA due to bad weather.

Contact was lost at

5.20pm.

The 10

were Captain Barbra Wangeci, officer Jean Mureithi, Ahmed Ali, Khetia Kishani, Pinuekerton Ronald, Kabara Waweru, Matakasarai Thamani, Matakatekei Paula, George Ngugi and Robinson Wafula.

Earlier, Transport PS Paul Maringa and President Uhuru Kenyatta condoled with the families.

The Trans Nzoia Assembly observed a minute's silence for the victims, acting Speaker Stephen Njoroge saying they were hardworking people.
